十二月廿一日寻梅到西坞留题山家
昨日看泉到山北，石路巉岩苦攀陟。
寻源未穷力已疲，百步无多几停息。
今朝寻梅到西坞，野旷霜晴好风日。
两株郤傍山家开，柴门蓊菀连丛棘。
老樵出迎颇解事，扫石坐我吟其侧。
疏花冷蕊自逞妍，不放寒香洗胸臆。
何郎久没杜陵老，好句独有林逋得。
花虽无情弗与较，嗟我怀抱花宁识。
明当携酒此问春，东风应念重来客。
Yesterday, I visited the spring in the northern part of the mountain. The stone path was rugged and arduous to climb. I sought the source but exhausted my strength before reaching it, with only a hundred steps left but no more energy to go on, I had to rest several times. Today, I search for the plum blossoms in the western valley. The countryside is vast and the frost makes the weather clear and pleasant. Two plum trees are blooming near a mountain home, with a thatched door and a dense thicket of thorns surrounding it. An old woodcutter greeted me and understood my purpose. He swept away the stones and invited me to sit beside them while he recited poetry about the flowers. The sparse flowers and cold buds bloom beautifully on their own, without releasing their cold fragrance to cleanse my heart. Although Han Lang is no longer here and Du Ling is old, only Lin Pu knows beautiful verses like these. I would not compare the flowers'无情 to human emotions, instead, I marvel at their beauty even if my heart cannot fully appreciate it. Tomorrow, I will bring wine here to ask spring about its secrets. The东风 should remember me as a returning guest.
